Relocation

I think I'm getting a better grasp on lighting and flow requirements and the signs involved with too much/little of either one. As an experiment I've moved the xmas tree to a darker spot with considerably more current, and I've moved the fox coral to a place with less current and almost the same amount of light. I'm hoping they'll do better in the new locations, since they both were very slowly getting smaller.

The new tang and gorgonian seem to be doing well, I think the hamlet is getting used to having the tang around. All else seems well, things are growing. Squamosa has grown about 1/2" since I got him, lavendar mushroom has started growing again. The yellow leather has completely healed the stumps where the decorator crab took some peices for his shell.

New Kole Tang

Got a new Kole tang from Tropic Isle today. He is really cool and acclimated well after only about 15 minutes. The blue hamlet doesn't like him at all and chases him, but since the hamlet hides most of the time I don't think it will be a problem. The tang is not scared at all gets along with the coral beauty and sweet lips. He's fun to watch. I got 2 more emerald crabs for the 20g yesterday from Living Sea as well as a yellow gorgonian with red polyps, which is with the red gorgonian in the 29g.

20g

T. Crocea

Got a new T. Crocea today from Tropic Isle. It is a small (~2.5") electric blue/purple True T. Crocea, maybe tank raised, they didn't say. I moved a big chunk of live rock with green polyps all over it from the 20g to the 29g, which seems to be getting overgrown with polyps (anthelia and polyps). I put the new clam in a groove in a small piece of live rock near the top, there's considerably more room without the large piece that is in the other tank now. He seems to be doing fine, he has completely opened up and seems to be basking in the light. The squamosa clam is getting huge sitting in the sand at the bottom, he has grown 2 new rows of scales already (that's a lot of calcium) in about 3 months. He is about 6" now. The bubble is big again, pouring over it's skeleton. After having only 4 bubbles, that's pretty good (I feed it a shrimp pellet every other day or more).

The fox coral is slowly shrinking and I think it may be dying. Since everything else seems to be fine, I'm not sure what its problem is, it seems to have just given up. 3 different caulerpas are all growing like crazy in the refugium, I trim them about once a week. I want to get a tang to eat it.

What's in the 20g reef now? Let's see if I can remember:

Frogspawn
Anthelia
Yellow Finger Leather
Fox
Squamosa
Blue Linckia
Bubble
Hand Leather (w/ one frag)
Sun Polyps
Xmas Tree
Colored Button Polyps
Green Polyps
Red Chili
White maze
2 T.R. true percula
1 Hawkfish
1 Mandarin Fish
Spotted Mushrooms (too many)
Lavender Mushroom
